Gus Poyet has vowed to take no risks with Glenn Murray as Albion say farewell to Withdean.

The Seagulls should receive the result of a scan on their top scorer this morning after he left last Saturday’s defeat by Southampton early with a shoulder injury.

Poyet expects goalkeeper Casper Ankergren, who suffered knocks in both Easter fixtures, to be fit to face Huddersfield in the champions’ last game at their current home.

The Albion boss reports Murray was making progress during the week and said: “We don’t need to take any risks. But if there is nothing wrong, he will play.

“It’s an easy one for me. I’ll pick my best team and try and win the game.

“This is another opportunity to play one of the top teams at home and enjoy it.

“It’s very similar to last week against Southampton. There is no pressure.”

Gordon Greer returns to contention after a four-game ban as Albion prepare for a celebratory occasion which will see them collect the League One trophy and medals.

Albion are being linked with two African midfielders who run out of contract at Dundee United this summer.

Senegal international Morgaro Gomis and Ghanaian Prince Buaben helped United win the Scottish Cup last season.

Meanwhile the Seagulls have offered professional deals to youth team defender or midfielder Jamie Strong, versatile Leon Redwood and striker Jordan Woodley.

George Hayward, whose second year as a scholar was ruined by a shoulder injury, has been given a third year in the youth set-up.

Goalkeeper Josh James and defender Callum Sheriff have accepted similar offers to give them more time to impress.

Dan Bolwell, Conor Hider and Tom Godfrey have been released.

Albion’s under-18s end their season with a rare Withdean run out as they host Brentford on Monday (2pm).
