Albion's interest in Falkirk defender Murray Wallace has been confirmed by Ipswich, one of their rivals for his signature.

Ipswich chief Paul Jewell said: "We have had a bid accepted by Falkirk for the lad. I spoke to Steven Pressley (Falkirk manager) and he's a lad that we have been watching for a while.

"We face a lot of competition for him. I know Brighton are keen and there are two or three other clubs as well.

"He's got a big game for Falkirk against Celtic on Sunday (Scottish League Cup semi-final) and then he will be coming down to see us. There is a long way to go yet but we are in there fighting."

Sources in Ipswich claim Albion held talks on Thursday with 19-year-old Wallace. He is also set to meet with Huddersfield after Sunday's match.
