Spurs eye Albion defender
8:30am Thursday 5th April 2012 in Albion By Andy Naylor
Being watched: Hall
Albion defender Grant Hall is a shock target for Tottenham.
The North London giants are monitoring the progress of the 20-year-old centre half.
They have watched him in action several times for the development squad in recent matches.
Hall broke into the Seagulls' first team earlier this season.
He made his debut as a substitute against Southampton at The Amex in January and his full debut against Wrexham in the FA Cup five days later.
Spurs have previously been linked with a summer move for Albion's other 20-year-old central defender Lewis Dunk, who recently lost his first team spot to Adam El-Abd.

Qpr and Charlton were lining him up at the time, as for Zamora, Hall needs to go out on loan, as the lad we sold to Bournemouth, he then finds his level... we then either sell him or bring him back to play, If we sell Dunk then we will need a player to back up the defence.
He was good when he played for Lewes FC as a teenager but I don't suppose Lewes will benefit in any way if this move takes place.

Really? We have Greer, El-Abd, Dunk and Elphick who are all better so if the price is right I would accept as I don't think he is up to Championship standard.

The thing is for Spurs, Rednapp might not be there after the summer so this might be scouting for the new manager.
It was hinted on MOTD that Brendan Rogers might be the target manager for Spurs, and because he has a connection with the Albion, he would have inside knowledge of Hall’s quality.
I would say that this could be a clue that Rogers has already been contracted to manage Spurs and this scouting has been instigated by him.
I may have put 2 and 2 together and come up with 3, but it’s Just a thought?

(2) If a club like Spurs is looking at him and maybe wish to buy him why are statesments being made here that he is only a Championship player Zamora25?

Pure headline speculation at this stage but also a very nice encouraging pat on the back for Hall.

That is a shock because he was very average against Whitehawk on Tues night and gave away the first goal. But that said he has good physique and i think he might be a very good centre half with some more 1st team action. I think the one player that will be on some big clubs shopping lists will be JFC , he wont stay around in the development squad if he can get Championship first team action elsewhere.... Gus needs to be aware of that ....

Just remember how Spurs screwed us by avoiding paying any sell-on clause for BobbyZ by 'swopping' him for Defoe. Don't trust them and get all the money up front.

Such a big squad of decent players now I forgot about him...talking of forgotten players...Gus can you please loan out Ryan Harley back to Exeter as they need him and he needs some match practise! I still think he is class...just needs to up his work rate and change his attitude a bit.
