Greer: Nothing has changed

Gordon Greer insists nothing has changed in the play-off race – despite cruel defeat for Albion last night.

The Seagulls skipper felt his side deserved more against title-chasing Reading but has set his sights on earning three more wins from the remaining fixtures.

He said: “I don’t think it really changes that much because of Monday’s results (for Albion’s rivals).

“It would have been great to have got the three points but we just need to win as many games as possible and see where it takes us.”

Greer echoed his manager Gus Poyet’s belief that Albion lost despite a good performance.

He added: “We played well. The boys are really disappointed not to get three points. It was just one of those nights.”

Midfielder Alan Navarro added: “We tried everything to win the game and we just needed something to fall for us.

“We can’t let it affect us, though. We have got four massive games left. We just need to brush ourselves down and go again at West Ham on Saturday.”
