Vicente trains with Albion

Vicente has returned to Albion.

The Spanish star linked back up with the squad today following the saga surrounding his future.

Vicente looked relaxed and in decent shape as he was put through his paces with his team-mates at the Seagulls' University of Sussex training base at Falmer.

The former Valencia playmaker has jetted back in from Spain after resolving what the club have described as personal issues.

Albion triggered a one-year option on his existing deal, which means he is under contract until June 2013.

Boss Gus Poyet says he has not spoken to Vicente about a new contract.

Has the Argus made this story sound like more of a saga than it actually was?
I guess we will see how dedicated Vicente is once the season starts. Good to have him back anyway.

Good to see him back indeed - I must say he looks delighted..! The lack of statement from the player and Gus saying no new contract has been discussed leads me to conclude though that he's here because we basically had him by the footballs once we invoked the extra year and he has no choice. I hope I'm wrong and even if I'm not if he's prfofessional and puts it in for the next year and we see the form of the end of last season I'm not too bothered.

Earlier reports suggested Albion had offered a new (2 year?) deal. Interesting to see how that develops.

Well done to Brian Owen keeping us in the loop in Andy Naylor's absence.

Time now for the midfielder and striker we all hope for. I'm sure that many impatient fans will be hanging on every hint for who and when it might be.

Yes good to have HIM back---as yet no where can I see any genuine reports of further new players coming in. But Gus & co are pretty good at keeping things under wraps until new players are signed up---so another little waiting game, but the 'new' team is shaping up well.

Be nice if we can have a picture of Vinnie with a smile on his face. Us fans want to know he's happy to be back. Come on Argus the camera never lies

I would not say he looks 'relaxed' more 'resigned' in my opinion! My feeling is that he wanted to remain in Spain for whatever reason, but as the Spanish club were not able to pay a fee for him, then there was no choice but for him to return. If he is a Pro, he will do what he needs to in order to honour his contract. So on balance, we have another decent signing for the year ahead. Hurry up with the midfielder and striker please and then we are off! My prediction is 6th so that would make for a very happy season!

Good to see him back in the Brighton colours but think he will maybe need a bit more time to look relaxed and happy to be back at work as we all no he just became a dad again and being away from your newborn if indeed that is the case is a very hard thing to get to grips with. Would like him to give some mention to what has or seems to have happened over the last weeks, maybe once he gets talking to Gus and Bruno and made to feel at home he will give out some sort of statement.

Two more players signed, just not announced yet, according to Paul Barber...

How come suddenly some on here, now have a body language degree and are experts in the field and are now analysing the photo in fine detail for the truth. As you can see if you study his hands and placement of his fingers, he is doing a V sign to all who are judging him.

Rhodes to Brighton all closed according to those in the know on twitter and no truth that Kasim is coming back. No need to buy damaged goods just because they are on offer

So if the Roads from Rhodes to Brighton are closed does this mean that Jordan Rhodes will not travel by road from Rhodes to Brighton down the A27 Road?

I reckon he's really chuffed, miles away from his hormonal misses and the screaming baby and one of his best mates is here now too! I bet all the other stuff was just bluff to appease 'er indoors. Nice work Mr V!

I think a face saving deal has been done to suit all parties so that Vicente will be with us this season and then he'll sign for Elche after that.
