Andrea Orlandi has a chat with Andy Naylor today before getting on the coach to Burnley
Albion have completed the capture of attacking midfielder Andrea Orlandi from Swansea City for an undisclosed fee.
The 28-year-old Spaniard has signed a two-year deal with and is available for tomorrow's trip to Burnley.
Boss Gus Poyet said: "Andrea provides us with versatility and creativity across the midfield. He can play as a typical winger, or more central in a number ten
role.
"He has played a lot of games in the Championship for Swansea, helping them win promotion to the Premier League, and he has played at the top level.
"Andrea is a creative player who likes to get forward and attack and he will give us a different attacking option in midfield."

Regards Orlandi I think this is a very shrewd signing, especially on a free. I know Brendan Rogers rated him very highly and if our medics can turn him around like they did with Vicente then we have another potential star amongst the ranks !!!

Yes only Orlandi officially signed sealed and delivered! Strong rumours about Jay Bothroyd from Dr Baldhead and heres hoping Bobby Zamora ;-)
Only Noone has gone sadly, would have liked more money for him, but if it means the squad is more balanced then sometimes you have to make a sacrifice.

Pretty sure that transfers had to be completed by 12pm to be registered in time for tomorrows matches, so on that basis Orlandi would be fine but anyone else who comes in will not be able to play.

When I went to bed last night there was a whole bunsh of possibles connected to Bton, but only one deal completed, a tad surprising.
I guess no further news on Bothroyd or the Turk.

All quiet as far as i can see on the Tuncay front.
No one's really come up with any midfield rumours (Tuncay and Orlandi being more attacking options).

I suppose there could be one or two loan deals in the making, I think I am right in saying that these type of deals can happen after the window closes yes, or is that only for emergency cover, such as a keeper? .

We don't need to replace Noone, we have that covered within the squad.
We reportedly turned down three million for CMS, an improved offer could come but it would have to be silly money and even then, I don't think CMS would go, he wants to be at Brighton.
If we get our striker we will all be happy but surely we need two, where is the cover if the new boy or CMS gets injured.
The desired new center back is a position that we have heard nothign about. Any names that have come up as possible new signings have all been mid field or up front, so that position is still unfinished business.
I think that we must still be looking at three and possibly four more to come.

I can't see us getting Bobby Zamora back yet a while, but surely a possibility for next season (if he is the sort of player Gus needs at that stage).
If we get Jay Boothroyd, and he scores as many goals as he did with Cardiff, then we will have a 'gem' (if he keeps his cool on and off the pitch).
