Hammond will be a hit with fans again

Dean Hammond has been backed to quickly win over his critics in his second spell with Albion.
The former captain is line to replace injured Andrew Crofts in central midfield against Sheffield Wednesday tonight and manager Gus Poyet is convinced his season-long loan signing from Southampton will be a hit with supporters.
Poyet said: “Dean Hammond knows the division and how to get out of the division. He has the quality to play in our system very easily in terms of the technical and tactical ability.
“He has got presence in both boxes which we have missed sometimes. He knows the club and the city so he was very happy to come here. He is going to be the easiest player to convince the fans how much he wants to play.”
Hammond has already apologised for an ear-cupping celebration after scoring against Albion for Southampton at Withdean three seasons ago. That angered fans and caused some of them to be sceptical about his return.
Poyet said: “Maybe people were having a little bit of a doubt with Deano, because of what happened a few years ago. I think that is absolutely rubbish. That shows the passion he has got for the game and how much it means for him to win. He is going to show that.”

I just checked out the Wednesday website, it's devoid of any comment about tonight's match.
There is an interview with Mattock, he tells of wanting to play ect. I was surprised by the absence of a match preview article, the preview they do have is for their last match against Palace.
Oh well, maybe they will write more once they get back home after losing.

I do doubt the sincerity of his apology and his affinity for the club.
No one expects a player today to be playing for the love of the club, but one who criticised the club when he left and then abused the fans when he returned is expecting it all to be forgotten and be cheered because he puts a good shift in?
Gus may think it is petty, but he wasn't called a c**t, I bet he would be less forgiving if he and his son had been in the stand that day.

Interesting to note that the local bookies have Brighton odds on to win with the draw being second fav, or at least I think it was the local bookies.
Anyone looking to kill some time go check the site out, maybe even the Argus people.

Just two questions that I would ask of you.
1. Do you want Hammond to play a good game tonight.
2. Do you want Hammond to score tonight.

Hello and welcome to the all new VegasSeagull.com site where you can spend all day answering questions from the site editor. Today's question is "Where do I get up to-to-the- minute information on the Albion - team news, injuries, useless inuendo, etc... - and similar information on their current opponents?" The answer is as follows :

On a more serious note Jonathan, PJWILK suggested that I look at The Star Sheffield web site, take a look if you have time and see just how many articles that paper has supplied over the last few days. I doubt anyone in Sheffield is short on news about their club.

These are the new improved Brighton & Hove Albion supporters, let's not go back to the 70's and 80's when we had to be caged in.
We should be, and are, better than you suggest, if we want a club where parents (including mums) can bring their kids. There is nothing wrong with principals.
Albion Always.
