Barnes in danger of early ban

Albion striker Ashley Barnes is on the brink of a quickfire ban.

Barnes is a booking away from an automatic one-match suspension following four cautions in the first seven matches of the season.

He collected his latest yellow card for a clash with Watford’s Czech defender Daniel Pudil after coming off the bench in the second half of Tuesday’s 1-0 victory at Vicarage Road.

It added to cautions for Barnes against Swindon, Barnsley and Burnley.

The 22-year-old is not in danger of the fastest suspension for five bookings this season. That fate has already been suffered by Accrington Stanley's ex-Everton and Congo defender Toto Nsiala.

Two-goal Barnes could be restored to the starting line-up as Albion chase a fifth straight win today at Millwall, who have lost three of their last four games.

Unfortunately he seems to have this nasty streak in him and has not really learnt anything from last season. He was lucky not to have been sent of against Watford. Needs to channel his aggression into scoring goals.

The boy is a winner you cannot have too many of them. He'll grow out of his somewhat impetuousness,I'd rather have Barnsie in the side as he is then a maybe toothless Barnes controlling his temperament.SEAGULLS
