LuaLua and Orlandi start for Albion

Albion have given Kazenga LuaLua a chance to dazzle from the start against Ipswich tonight.

The winger replaces Will Buckley as one of two changes to the side beaten here at The Amex by Birmingham three days ago.

The other sees Andrea Orlandi, who missed Saturday’s game through illness, get a first home start for the Seagulls.

Orlandi replaces Gary Dicker who, like Buckley, is among the subs.

Craig Mackail-Smith (hamstring) and Bruno (groin) both missed the 1-0 defeat by Birmingham City and are again out tonight.

Bruno expects to be fit for the trip to Derby on Saturday.

Michael Chopra returns to the Ipswich attack after a thigh injury.

Albion: Kuszczak; Calderon, Greer, El-Abd, Bridge; Bridcutt, Hammond, Orlandi; LuaLua, Dobbie, Barnes. Subs: Ankergren, Painter, Dunk, Harley, Dicker, Buckley, David.

Ipswich: Loach; Edwards, Chambers, Higginbotham, Cresswell; N’Daw, Drury, Emmanuel-Thomas, Martin; Murphy, Chopra. Subs: Lee-Barrett, Smith, Ainsley, Luongo, Carson, Ellington, Scotland.

Referee: Fred Graham: Essex.

Weird team selection. Thought most agreed Dicker was one of our better players on Saturday? And no striker on the bench?

Going a goal down is not good, and many crosses coming in but nobody latching onto them, again. The good thing is that we are getting some shots off.

I am not at the game but listening to the radio it sounds very much like last saturday, all except for the absense of the off side trap.

Don't understand why we have gone with Lualua - he looks lethargic. Dicker on for LuaLua and Buckley on for Dobbie. Need to look at 4-1-3-2 with Hammond sweeping giving Bridge and Calderon the chance to get behind their defenders. Had a bad feeling about Saturday but have got a good feeling about the 2nd half tonight - 3-1 Albion. UTA

Looks an even bigger mistake now we're 1-0 down at half-time. How long has Toby been at the club? If he's not good enough to be on the bench with CMS and Hoskins out injured then why is he still at the club?

Hope your feeling is right, to be honest it is not the feeling I have.

Nor me, I'm afraid. All the hard work winning at Watford and Millwall looks like being wasted.

Who would have thought that losing CMS would mean that we can't beat two of the lower teams on our own grass.
I guess there is still time in this one but I am not holding my breath.

Time for one more (to us) please?

Well the Dobbie/Barnes partnership seems to be working--NOT---looks like another disappointing game, plenty of shots but just cannot hit the net---wheres that striker???

5 points dropped in my opinion, not good enough. I just hope that Gus does not come out and say how pleased he was with the fight back. If the answer is the elusive, 'target man,' then why don't we have him, this has been dragging on for nearly a year, and maybe longer.

Could have been worse by all accounts. The good news is that we have CMS, Bruno and Crofts to come back. Hopefully, at Derby on Saturday, although I can't see Gus risking anyone not 100% fit before the next international break.
