Albion picked up another away point today – but were left regretting the two that got away.

The Seagulls were the better side in their 0-0 draw at Derby County.

They had a golden chance to break the deadlock on 72 minutes when sub Dean Hammond headed wide from close range following up a fine save by home keeper Adam Legzdins.

Liam Bridcutt had earlier seen his shot deflect on to the crossbar.

David, on his first start for the Seagulls, curled a good opening just off target after Albion's best move of the day, between sub Stephen Dobbie and the impressive Bruno.

Derby were stung into action by Hammond's miss and Tomasz Kuszczak dived to his right to make super saves from John Brayford and Craig Bryson.

But the Seagulls were generally the slicker side.

Will Buckley started the game at centre-forward in a 4-2-3-1 set-up but went off during the first half, seemingly as a result of his recent hamstring trouble.

Still not good enough---goals win matches not how dominant you are--we still do not know how to score goals, many attempts--today 11 and only 3 on target. Last THREE games we can only score ONE goal--not exactly a Team expecting to get into the Premiership let alone stay there. The new boys have to step up to the mark and prove they were worth buying. Gus must be so frustrated. hope Buckley is not too serious. Now a bit thin on the ground for forwards??

The pattern is the same, we have the majority of possession in two thirds of pitch just like home matches and just unable to finish. Much as we have improved the midfield players never score or look like scoring.
For 18 months we have talked about bringing in a target man and nothing has happened,its so obvious and although Gus talks about it no progress it seems.Lets hope the problem isn't sorted out too late in the season.Dobbie will come good but he is not a target man.

A point away from home will do, long way to go still. We defo need to start scoring again, they will come alright and we know about the CF issue so why keep banging on about it?

On way back from game. Decent away point but somehow feel it is 2 dropped. Missing CMS big time. Had we had the striker Gus talks about we would of won 2day. Dobbie not a striker, Barnes was poor again he marks the centre half & makes it easy thought it was supposed to be the other way round! Does anyone feel that Gus is being too fussy?

My how expectations from Seagulls fans have soared! We would all have been delighted with a point at Derby had we taken care of business in our last two home games. The fact that we didn't makes the result slightly disappointing, especially as we had a golden chance to win it towards the end. I'm positive wins will come again when Crofts and CMS get back, but a little disappointed in Dobbie and the lack of goals from midfield in general. To end on a positive note, the back five have been magnificent so far.

Even though injured gd gus has been listening to a number of posters including me about playing buckers up front and listening to jonny it did sound as if it was working. Quite pleased with a point but getting fed up hearing about dobbie is going to come gd hope other posters are right ,still not my cup of tea.

Yes - playing Buckley centrally has been long overdue but unfortunately quickly scuppered by injury. Had we the luxury of proven strikers, presumably Buckley would have had further time to get fully fit and perhaps sat this one out. All a bit too experimental up front and in midfield for me at the moment, but to be fair to the manager, the loss of Crofts CMS and Buckley is very difficult to cover. A little bit of concern beginning to creep in for me. Middlesborough will be a tough one.

We **** Buckley,our only bit of pace up front,should have been a straight swop for Lua Lua.Thats if we wanted to win the game.Hammond was poor again.Give Barker a go.

Defence solid again. El Abd and Greer really seem to have struck up a formidable partnerships and the two full backs are great in defence and going forward. I'm a fan of Dunk but can see why he can't force his way into the team at the moment.

I think we need more goals from midfield (most successful teams have an attacking midfielder who will notch a dozen goals in season). Dobbie? Vicente?

Strange now how we are apparently so dependent on CMS when last season he went through such a lean patch he was dropped.

You know what? We all tend to get frustrated far too easily..a bit of perspective is needed. I still recall sitting in pouring rain at Withdean watching dismal performances and wondering why I had invested a 120 mile round trip and wasted £25++. We are a work-in-progress and there will be the usual bad days at the office. Be disheartened not! Take comfort that everyone feels the pain after efforts like the last 3 games, but be assured, it will come right over the course of the whole campaign. There WILL be great days ahead this season, you can be sure!
