Bridge loves it at Albion
12:30pm Saturday 20th October 2012 in Albion By Andy Naylor
Wayne Bridge is enjoying his loan stint with Albion
Wayne Bridge has fallen back in love with football at Albion.
The former England left-back has played every minute of the Seagulls’ 11 games since signing on loan from Manchester City for the season.
Bridge, 32, only made 11 starts in the last two-and-a-half years with City.
He said: “It’s a difficult time, especially when you are not training with the first team and you don’t play week in, week out.
“Not being part of the team you kind of lose a love for the game and going in every day.
“Now there has just been a big turnaround and I am enjoying every day. To know you are going to run out on the pitch on a Saturday is a big plus.”
Bridge has also reiterated a desire to stay with the Seagulls after helping them off to a good start in the Championship and ending a five-and-a-half-year goal drought with two in as many home games against Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday recently.
He said: “Coming here you want to make a good impression.
“There was a lot of doubt about me and whether I still want to play.
“I just want to do well for Brighton and hopefully progress into the Premier League with them.”
