Evans delighted as Crawley fight back

Crawley boss Steve Evans was full of praise for his side's second-half fightback as they came from behind to beat York City 3-1 in the Blue Square premier today.

Danny Forrest scored two second-half goals to makr it three in three games as Reds won their first Blue Square premier game in five attempts.

York's top scorer Richard Brodie fired his side ahead with a 28th-minute free kick for his 11th goal of the season.

But Reds hit back in the second half, equalising after 53 minutes when Forrest produced a smart finish from close range after Chris Giles had flicked on Thomas Pinault's free kick.

Giles and Simon Rusk both cleared shots off the line as York threatened to go back in front but Reds went ahead after 78 minutes when Ben Smith scored his first goal for Reds after Forrest and Calum Wiloock had seen shots blocked.

Willock then put Forrest clear and he scored his third goal in three games with two minutes to go to secure a much-needed win for Evans' side.

Evans said: "We fell behind to their only shot on target in the first half and at half-time we had to remind them to be courageous and brave and keep trying to pass the ball.

"I would have taken the flack if things had gone against us but it was a dominant second-half performance against a good York side."
