Albion stalwarts Kerry Mayo, Gary Hart and Guy Butters have all been released.

The long-serving trio are the main casualties of an end-of-season clearout by the Seagulls.

Boss Dean Wilkins and his assistant Dean White held meetings today and yesterday with the multitude of players out-of-contract.

Mayo, Hart and Butters have been told they are not being offered new deals, together with injury-plagued Australian Paul Reid.

What do you think?

It's sad to see Hart, Mayo and Butters leave. They've been magnificient over the years and showed a lot of loyalty to the club through what has been a challenging period. Hope they all find a good club soon and preferably in Sussex.

I wonder how much of a pratt John Lees feels now! At the OGH Testimonial Dinner he asked Gary 3 times what his plans were for the future!!

I think Guy Butters at 38 will retire, but the other three will come back to haunt us just like Nathan Jones!

I know you were looking forward to playing in Lewes, (all right Falmer nearer Lewes than Brighton) bet you never thought it would be FOR Lewes

As many fans will do, i would like to thank all 3 of these players who over the years have been a credit to the club and hope that they find a new club soon, but for Brighton its now time for them to build for the future.

At last sanity has pervailed. Whilst I can't deny they have been excellent servants for the club it was obvious that their best footballing days were well behind them.

Has Butters not been offered a coaching position?

So it's all off to Whitehawk to play in front of one man and his dog.Someone obviously knew this was coming.I wonder if George Parris got a fiver on it at Ladbrokes.
