Striker Guy Madjo has dismissed talk of interest from League clubs and says he is happy scoring goals for Crawley.

The Cameroon hitman is being tracked by a number of scouts following his stunning start to the season.

The 23-year-old is third in the Conference premier scoring charts after netting ten goals in the first 16 games.

Manager Steve Evans rates Madjo as the best frontman in the division and is expecting clubs to be queuing up to try and lure him away from Broadfield in the January transfer window.

But Madjo is only focussed on maintaining his hot streak for Reds.

He said: "It is nice to have people say good things about you but at the moment I'm not thinking about other clubs.

"All I think about is doing my job and doing my best for Crawley. It is nothing to do with me if clubs are looking, I don't really care. I want to do everything right here."

Madjo has become a big hit with supporters since joining from Stafford Rangers in the summer.

He has his own terrace chant - "We've got Guy Madjo" - which is also sung by his team mates in the changing room after games.

Madjo says his relationship with the fans is one of the reasons he is doing so well.

He said: "It is really nice to hear the fans sing my name. It is not just here, I have had that song at other clubs as well. I had it at Forest Green and Stafford.

"It is great that they also sing it at Crawley and that is why I work so hard for the supporters."

Madjo started his career in England at Wessex league side Petersfield Town following a spell playing in France.

He was snapped up by Bristol City but only made six appearances at Ashton Gate before coming to prominence in the Conference with Forest Green.

He became Stafford's first ever full-time player last season and helpedSaturday's visitors to the Broadfield beat relegation in their first campaign back in non-league's top flight.

Madjo is looking forward to trying to add to his tally against Rangers but not because they are his old club.

He said: "Of course I am looking forward to the game, I look forward to every single game I play no matter who it is against.

"I love to play and score goals and I will be trying to do that again. I enjoyed it at Stafford but I decided I wanted a different challenge.

"I spoke to the manager (Evans) and my agent and decided it was the right move to come to Crawley.

"So far it has gone really well for me and I think that is because of hard work, from me and my team mates.

"I have ten goals so far but I'm not going to set myself a target. If the chances come I will take them, so as long as they keep coming, I will keep scoring."

Evans is hoping Madjo will continue his good form as he looks to wipe out the six-point deduction, handing out by the Conference last week for financial irregularities following an unsuccessful appeal with the Football Association.

He said: "This is a massive game for us because if we win we are back to where we were before the points deduction.

"I said I would not be happy until we got back to 24 points and this is a great chance to do it quickly.

"A win would jump us up another couple of places and put us back into the top ten so this is a big opportunity for us."
