Lewes today announced they have called an emergency meeting to discuss the future of under-fire manager Kevin Keehan.

The pressure increased on Keehan last night following the Blue Square premier club’s humiliating 3-1 home defeat against lower league Leiston in their FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay.

It is understood that the financial ramifications of the FA Cup exit will also be discussed at the meeting, which will be held next week.

The Rooks are bottom of the Blue Square premier table and have won just twice in the league this season while their FA Cup exit to the lowest ranked team in the competition means they miss out on a potential money-spinning run.

The board got rid of King and appointed an inexperienced manager in his place - so what do they expect? You made ya bed - now lie in it son!

Last night's performance was representative of the season thus far. There was no discernable pattern: none of the wide players got to the byeline with any regularity and on the rare occasion a ball came in from wide there were too few players in the box. The experienced players at the back gave the ball away or bucked responsibility and passed square. In fact the only glimmer of hope was from three young players, Elliot, Wheeler and Richards. And through it all KK's body language suggested he had no idea how to influence the game or inspire his team. The summer signings, Keehan apart, have flattered to deceive, Banks in particular is great or awful in equal measure. Last night it was the latter and he was at fault for two of the goals.
Having been comprehensively beaten at home by a team who play in a league equivalent in standard to the Sussex County League, KK cannot expect to remain in situ but as the last post suggests the board are reaping the reward of their baton down the hatches policy and seem hell bent on taking the club back down a few notches of the pyramid.

Lets be honest as soon as the lewes board sacked King and cut the budget this was the inevitable outcome.

As for the lewes board still claiming they had a squad strong enough "to compete" at this level they were deluding themselves!!!

They should all be hanging their heads in shame at the way they have turned an over achieving club into a laughing stock!!

All the best Danny you are sure gonna need it!!!

Shall we start running a sweepstake on the amount of Lewes managers this season?I'll settle on four...

I did say Kev would be gone by Xmas.Lewes wouldn't win the Sussex County league, and may well keep falling until they reach that level.
Who's really going to want a relegation on their CV?

As I said on the Southern Echo site when 2 teams have good managers, then sack both of them what does one hope for. Both teams Southampton and Lewes are now rock bottom or near and they only have them selves to blame.

To see Lewes come so far and now look at them is a sorry site to see.(I work about 50 yards from the ground) When one was passing the ground last year it was a delight and I looked forward to seeing the result while on my way back from Southampton(ST HOLDER)

I now am worried about both.

Come on you Rooks & Saints

The experiment has gone horribly wrong and the BOD must take full responsibility.

Fans were allowed to believe that KK would bring in significant sponsorship. Where is it?

KK sold the idea of a sussex based squad. Where are they?

KK said he wanted to play a passing game. What happened to that?

Danny Cullip has probably missed as many games as he has played. Is that value for money?

KK and his sidekick are clueless and unable to motivate. Do they sit in the changing room at half time with their arms folded saying nothing?

The Board have been sold a pup. It was bad last April, now it is dire. You could see the embarrassment on the BOD faces last night.

Billy Nixon, are you still optimistic?

the one amazing thing is when kk met the board , what exactly did he say his experience of any type of management was? has anybody got any idea what his actual football cv reads like? i know he was involved with fund raising at the albion, but my mate worked in jjb for nearly a year, should he stick a note into the club? mind you what a bluff when he said gareth barry was going to put some cash in!! i reckon he will resign tomo, his black coat is on e-bay
