Halifax boss predicts victory at Crawley

Forner Albion defender Chris Wilder has tipped his relegation-haunted side to battle their way to victory at fortress Broadfield.

Wilder brings his Halifax team to Crawley tomorrow for a game they cannot afford to lose.

The Shaymen fill the fourth relegation place and are a point adrift from safety with two matches remaining.

Reds have the second best home record of any team outside the top six, while Halifax have struggled on their travels this season.

Wilder, who had a nine-month spell at the Seagulls in 1999, said: "There are a lot of weary players out there but we are still fighting. We have two games to go and we need points out of both matches."We are in charge of our destiny. We aren't doing badly in terms of how we are playing and that gives me a lot of heart and it should give both the players and the supporters heart.

"If the players keep on like they are doing, we'll be okay. We can go to Crawley and get a result."

Wilder is enduring the toughest period since he took charge almost six years ago, both on and off the pitch.

Halifax went into administration for the second time in ten years last month with debts of around £1.1 million.

They were deducted ten points as a result, plunging Wilder's side into a relegation scrap.

Crawley can sympathise with Wilder's problems, having been hit the a similar penalty last season.
