Matt Sparrow has joined Crawley following his release by Albion.

The midfielder had not made an appearance for the Seagulls this season and had his contract paid up yesterday.

Scunthorpe were interested in resigning the 31-year-old who spent 11 seasons with the Iron before moving to Sussex.

But Crawley made their move to tie up his signature following the departure of Hope Akpan to Reading on Tuesday.

Sparrow played nearly 400 games for Scunthorpe and twice helped them gain promotion to the Championship. He was also a regular in the Albion team which won League One two seasons ago before falling down the pecking order.

Whatever Matt does ,good luck and all the best,i remember his brace,on the opening day of the season (10-11) away at Swindon,it set us up for a worthy promotion ,which MS played his part. UTA

Contract paid up.This is what happens when you give players not up to it contracts to long.You still have to pay them every last penny.Anyway good signing for Crawley,his a good league one player.But thats all he will ever be.

Amazing how few posts there are on here when The Argus posts a Brighton story on "Sport" rather than "Albion". A really good professional at Brighton and disappointed that he fell so far down the pecking order this season. Great signing for Crawley - perfect replacement for Akpan in terms of getting about the pitch and getting on the end of things in the box. Good luck Matt.

Ohh fell foul of the 'dam' autocensor. The word I wanted to use sounds the same as a large barricade across a body of water but is spelt differently and is used to describe people sentenced to an eternity in hell.

I'm trying to decide who is the biggest troll on these forums. Has to be either Gusset Snatcher or Freeloaders. Are there any others?

Both of the above complete sad cases but which one is the worst?

I'd probably go with Freeloaders. He has nothing good or interesting to say and is personal with his abuse. As my Nan use to say about such people. He is a complete div!

usual C++p have you noticed AR/GUS out of the mould ?????
