Boss John Gregory has reiterated his warning that Crawley’s out-of-contract players will need to accept a substantial pay-cut if they want to remain at the club.
Gregory has hinted he is likely to offer terms to all 12 players whose deals are coming to an end when he begins finalising his plans for next season this week.
But the Reds boss admits that the likes Billy Clarke and Paul Jones cannot expect to receive similarly lucrative contracts to the ones they currently enjoy.
And Gregory suggested some of the performances in yesterday’s disappointing 1-0 defeat at Notts County would influence his decision.
Gregory said: “I’ve got to review contracts this week. I probably should have done it at the weekend as I was in a much better mood.
“On Friday I would have signed everybody because it was such an excellent performance (against Leyton Orient) but it was not so good in the first 45 minutes yesterday.
“I think most of them will get a chance to say yes or no but it’s all about money now. It’s a question of whether they are willing to accept what we offer.”
