Marvin Elliott comes straight in for his Crawley Town debut at Preston North End after signing on Thursday.
Elliott replaces Keith Keane – who is ineligible to play against his parent club - in the holding midfield role as one of three changes to the side which drew at Doncaster Rovers in midweek.
Gwion Edwards is fit to start after missing the last two games due to an ankle injury picked up on Wales Under-21 duty. He replaces Ryan Dickson who suffered a knee injury at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Lanre Oyebanjo remains sidelined so Conor Henderson gets another chance in midfield ahead of Josh Wright with Jimmy Smith continuing in an unaccustomed right-back role.
Skipper Josh Simpson is also ruled out with the ankle injury sustained on the opening day of the season.
Preston boss Simon Grayson names the same starting XI which drew 3-3 at home with Colchester in midweek.
Crawley (4-1-4-1): Ashdown; Smith, Leacock, Walsh, Sadler; Elliott; Tomlin, Bawling, Henderson, Edwards; McLeod. Subs: Jensen, Bradley, Wright, Young, Banya, Harrold, O’Connor.
Preston (4-3-3): Jones; Woods, Clarke, Wright, Buchanan; Kilkenny, Browne, Brownhill; Gallagher, Garner, Hayhurst. Subs: Stuckmann, Laird, Wiseman, Humphrey, Reid, King, Robinson.
