Boss John Gregory admitted he got his tactics wrong after Crawley fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Coventry City.

Goals from Josh McQuoid and Simeon Jackson put the Sky Blues in control as Reds struggled to adapt to a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Gregory switched to 4-5-1 after Gwion Edwards had pulled one back and Izale McLeod grabbed an equaliser shortly afterwards.

Coventry enjoyed plenty of possession in the second half but Reds were able to snuff out their threat without being able to create any opportunities for themselves.

Gregory said: “We didn’t start very well and found it a little bit difficult with the shape of the side. I wanted us to try to press the ball but I probably went with the wrong tactics.

“When Gwion got us back into it we made a few adjustments. We allowed them to have the ball more and made it hard for them to break us down.

“It showed a lot of character to come from 2-0 down so I have to give the players a huge pat on the back to come away with a point.

“When we got it back to 2-2 I thought we might go on and get a winner but when we reflect on the result we’ll consider it a good point.”
