Crawley defender Joe Walsh has been called into the Wales squad for their European Championship qualifiers against Bosnia Herzegovina and Cyprus.
Walsh, pictured right, was not included in Chris Coleman’s original 26-man squad for the double-header at Cardiff City Stadium but has been drafted in due to injuries.
It is the first time the 22-year-old centre-back has been part of the senior set-up having been a regular member of the under-21 side for the last 18 months.
Wales are scheduled to play Bosnia on Friday and Cyprus on Monday meaning Walsh – who has been standing in as captain in the absence of Josh Simpson – will definitely miss Crawley’s home game against Peterborough on Saturday as well as tonight’s trip to Luton Town in the JP Trophy.
Marvin Elliott has not been included in the Jamaica squad for their friendly in Japan on Friday. The Reds midfielder has won nine caps for his country but has not featured since breaking an ankle in February.
