Goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown has paid the price for his blunders against Peterborough last weekend as he is dropped for the clash with Notts County.

Ashdown is replaced in goal by Brian Jensen having been at fault for two of Peterborough’s four goals at the Checkatrade.com Stadium.

Jensen has sat out the last five League One matches but did keep a clean sheet in the JP Trophy at Luton Town recently.

Jensen’s recall is one of three changes to the Reds side beaten 4-1 by Posh with Gwion Edwards and Joe Walsh returning after their first call up to the senior Wales squad last week.

Sonny Bradley and Gavin Tomlin are the two to drop to the bench where they join captain Josh Simpson.

Simpson has missed the last three matches with a hamstring injury and boss John Gregory is determined not to rush him back too quickly with Reds due to play Walsall at home on Tuesday.

Notts (4-4-2): Carroll; Dumbuya, Hollis, Laing, Cranston; Ismail, Jones, Noble, McLaughlin; G Thompson Harrad. Subs: Wroe, Murray, McKenzie, C Thompson, Spiess, Traore, Petrasso.
