Josh Simpson believes another FA Cup run could be just the catalyst Crawley need.

Reds will discover who they face in the first round of the famous competition this evening when the draw is made.

Simpson was part of the squad which enjoyed memorable runs to the fifth round in 2011 and 2012 where they played Premier League opposition in Manchester United and Stoke City.

Those runs not only raised money but also created a buzz around the club which has been missing in the last two seasons.

Reds lost in the second round to Bristol Rovers last year and were knocked out by Reading in the third round the previous season.

Simpson said: “Obviously we have done well in recent seasons so we are looking forward to seeing who we get.

“Hopefully we can go on a good run as it would be good for ourselves and the club. The runs we had previously really lifted the whole club and put us on the map so hopefully we can do something exciting again.”
