Crawley Town boss John Gregory has issued a warning to hosts Yeovil Town ahead of today’s FA Cup first round clash.

The Glovers have been playing better since their 2-0 League One defeat at Crawley at the end of September even if results do not show that.

But Gregory reckons the Reds are also a better team than the one which took maximum points thanks to a brace of goals from Marvin Elliott.

Helped by a number of loan signings, Yeovil drew 0-0 at Chesterfield last week, although it was only their second point in six games since that defeat in Sussex.

Gregory said: “It is not an easy place to go to and in the last month Yeovil have improved dramatically.

“Gary (Johnson) has turned them around with one or two additions and they have certainly improved since the last time we played them. It is not an easy tie for us but the one blessing is we know about them.

"We are not stepping into the unknown which it could have been had it been a non-league team or even a team in League Two or one in League One we haven’t played yet. We go into it knowing what to expect.

“Yeovil are better now than they were a month ago but so are we. We have better players in our team, players that are playing better than they were a month ago and there is a real air of confidence about us.

“The second half of last Saturday’s match left us in good spirits. I have seen it on the training ground this week, we are looking forward to it and it should be a cracker.”

Crawley’s on-loan left-back Mat Sadler has not been given permission by parent club Rotherham to play in the game and Ryan Dickson is not expected to feature despite returning to training this week after nearly two months out with a knee injury.

Centre-back Sonny Bradley is likely to fill in at left-back while Elliott could return in midfield following two games out with a groin injury.

If he does, Conor Henderson is the player likely to drop to the bench and Gregory must also decide whether to bring in Matt Harrold up front after impressing alongside Izale McLeod in the second half against Crewe last Saturday.

All six of Yeovil’s loan players are allowed to play in the tie, although Johnson can only choose five for his matchday squad.

Striker Keiffer Moore is likely to miss out with a hamstring injury while midfielder Simon Gillett (knee) is battling to be fit.
