Crawley could find themselves in hot water with the authorities after a fan allegedly threw a cup of tea over an MK Dons player at the Checkatrade.com Stadium on Saturday.
Carl Baker was involved in a heated exchange with a Crawley supporter in the West Stand when he went to retrieve the ball during the second half of the incident packed 2-2 draw.
Dons boss Karl Robinson was furious the spectator was not ejected from the stadium and confirmed the visitors would be making an official complaint.
Robinson also claimed that former Reds boss Richie Barker – who is now Robinson’s assistant – was spat at by a Crawley supporter on his return to the club he left 13 months ago.
Crawley have launched an internal investigation into the complaints and interim manager Dean Saunders says anyone found guilty must be punished.
Saunders said: “If someone has chucked a cup of tea it is wrong and if someone has spat it is wrong so whoever did it should be reprimanded.
“I wouldn’t like anything like that to happen to me so we don’t condone it. We don’t want that sort of behaviour here.”
