Crawley have eased their defensive problems by signing Richard Wood on a one-month emergency loan from Championship side Rotherham United.

The 29-year-old centre-back is eligible for tomorrow’s game at Swindon Town.

Wood began his career at Sheffield Wednesday, making 189 appearances for the Owls over an eight-year period.

The experienced defender spent three seasons at Coventry after a successful loan spell was made permanent before he joined Charlton in 2013 for a season at The Valley.

Wood linked up with former Crawley boss Steve Evans at the start of this campaign and has made five appearances for the Millers.
