Richard Wood is staying with Crawley until the end of the season.

The Reds have extended the loan of the Rotherham defender until the end of the campaign, although the Millers do have a 24-hour recall option.

Wood’s initial one-month loan ended with Saturday’s 1-0 win at home to fellow strugglers Leyton Orient.

In seven appearances for the club, Wood has helped Crawley to four wins and has chipped in with two goals.

Manager Dean Saunders said: “We’re delighted to have Woody with us until the end of the season. He’s made a big difference since he came here with his ability and experience.

“I would also like to thank (Rotherham manager) Steve Evans for agreeing to extending the loan period. Steve has been great in helping his old club out over this and it is much appreciated.”
