Marvin Elliott has been declared fit for Crawley’s relegation six-pointer away to Crewe today.

The experienced midfielder, pictured above, was forced off with a gash to an ankle in the 2-1 defeat at home to Gillingham last Saturday.

He has recovered to be named in the squad for the game although manager Dean Saunders may opt for recalling Mathias Pogba to face his former club.

Pogba was left on the bench last Saturday after feeling a tight hamstring in training the day before the game but Saunders has hinted his physical presence may be an asset against a young Crewe side. Centre-back Dean Leacock is also back in the squad, having not played since Boxing Day due to a groin injury, but Conor Henderson and Josh Simpson remain sidelined.

Saunders must also opt whether to stick with Brian Jensen in goal or recall Lewis Price, who has now fully recovered from concussion.

The Reds follow today’s trip by playing host to Oldham on Monday.

Saunders said: “We have got to win one of these games. If we can get a draw in the other one, you would take four points from two games.

“Let’s try and be in control of our own destiny. We still are because we’ve got a lot of teams around us still to play.”
