Crawley Town will return to the scene of late-season heartbreak in the opening week of the coming campaign.
Reds have been drawn away to Peterborough United in the first round of the Capital One Cup.
The tie will take place in the week commencing August 10 and will therefore be the second game of the season.
A precise date has yet to be announced.
Posh nudged Reds close to relegation when they came from behind for a dramatic 4-3 win in the penultimate game of last season.
Dean Saunders’ men had been within a few minutes of securing safety when they led 3-2.
Reds have good memories of the opening round of the competition. They stunned Championship outfit Ipswich 1-0 at the Checkatrade.com Stadium last season before bowing out to Norwich.
Their boss Mark Yates was in charge of the Cheltenham side beaten 2-0 by Albion at the Amex in the opening round.
Meanwhile Reds have announced they will visit Whitehawk for a friendly on Saturday, August 1 (3pm).
