Rebel striker Izale McLeod has been left out of the Crawley Town squad again for the clash with AFC Wimbledon today.

Boss Mark Yates had opened the door for a potential return for last season’s 21-goal top scorer during the week.

McLeod had previously told Yates he did not want to play for the club again but the Reds boss was due to speak to him yesterday to see if he had had a change of heart.

The 30-year-old is keen to leave the Checkatrade.com Stadium but no one has met Crawley’s valuation yet despite a £125,000 bid from Notts County.

With McLeod still missing Matt Harrold will lead the line against Wimbledon with Roarie Deacon and Gwion Edwards offering support from the flanks.

Edwards is one of three changes from the 2-0 defeat at Peterborough in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday with Simon Walton also returning from injury and Jon Ashton replacing Joe McNerney in the centre of defence.

There is also a Football League debut for Belgian left-back Bryan Van Den Bogaert who missed the opening day draw at Oxford due to an ankle injury.

Yates is only able to name six of the seven permitted substitutes with midfielder Conor Henderson still sidelined by an ankle injury.

Former Reds midfielder Dannie Bulman is among the substitutes for Wimbledon while ex-Eastbourne Borough loanees Karleigh Osborne and Lyle Taylor start for the visitors.

Crawley (4-1-4-1): Woodman; Donnelly, Ashton, Bradley, Van Den Bogaert; Walton; Deacon, Rooney, Smith, Edwards; Harrold. Subs: Preston, Young, Bawling, Fenelon, Barnard, McNerney.

Wimbledon (3-4-3): Shea; Fuller, Robinson, Osborne; Francomb, Reeves, Meades, Barcham; Taylor, Akinfenwa, Elliott. Subs: Kennedy, Bulman, Nightingale, Rigg, Azeez, Fitzpatrick, McDonnell.
