Crawley striker Roarie Deacon opened his account for the club with a double – on the day Izale McLeod completed his move to Notts County.
Deacon set Reds up for a superb 3-0 win at Cambridge United.
He shot home from 25 yards via a deflection on 39 minutes.
Deacon doubled the advantage with strong work in the box on 47 minutes.
Reds’ on-loan right-back Liam Donnelly was sent off on 80 minutes for not retreating at a free-kick, his second booking of the game.
But Crawley stood firm and Gwion Edwards continued his rich goalscoring run late on after Bobson Bawling’s shot was parried.
