Crawley could pitch Josh Yorwerth into a Football League survival scrap tonight –less than a week after he faced Wayne Rooney at Old Trafford.
The 20-year-old defender has signed on a month’s loan from Ipswich Town and travelled to Rodney Parade for tonight’s League Two six-pointer with Newport County.
Reds have brought him in to help ease injury concerns at the back.
Yorwerth played 90 minutes in the Capital One Cup last Wednesday as a second-string Ipswich line-up went down 3-0 to a Manchester United side for whom Rooney, Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata were among the starters.
Boss Mark Yates said: “Josh is highly regarded by Ipswich.”
