Crawley Town came from behind for the second week running to secure back-to-back home wins against Luton Town.

Reds trailed to Cameron McGeehan’s 31st minute header at the interval but struck back in the second half through Rhys Murphy and Matt Harrold.

The 2-1victory followed up the 3-2 success against Leyton Orient last weekend but was not enough to lift Mark Yates’ men from their 18th place in League Two.

The opening half hour was largely uneventful bar a couple of efforts from former Albion striker Craig Mackail-Smith which flashed over Darryl Flahavan’s bar.

Crawley looked fairly comfortable but fell behind in the 31st minute as Luton suddenly went up through the gears.

Sean Long was given too much room to swing over a cross from the right which found McGeehan unmarked at the far post. His header looped over Flahavan and Sonny Bradley’s attempted clearance on the line failed.

McGeehan twice went close to doubling the advantage before the break, heading wide from a corner and then almost catching Flahavan out with a snapshot from 35 yards.

Gwion Edwards had posed the sole attacking threat for Crawley in the first half but he was unable to make the most of their best opportunity, snatching at a shot when the ball fell to him 12 yards out.

Reds upped the tempo after the interval and Josh Yorwerth should have levelled in the 55th minute when he put a free header wide from a corner.

When the equaliser did arrive it was no surprise that Edwards was heavily involved. The Welsh winger dinked a perfectly weighted cross to give Murphy a simple header from six yards.

The goal seemed to spark Crawley into life and they deservedly took the lead with nine minutes to go.

Murphy challenged in the air after a long kick from Flahavan and the ball dropped nicely for Harrold to fire home a low shot from 20 yards.
