Crawley Town boss Mark Yates is to seek urgent talks with the club's prospective new owners.

Yates saw the plug pulled on a number of signings this week due to the continuing negotiations over a takeover.

Yates admits his squad desperately needs an injection of fresh blood after suffering a fifth defeat in six games at home to Mansfield today.

And he has resigned himself to being unable to bring in reinforcements before the transfer deadline closes on Monday night.

Yates said: "The group needs some fresh faces and the sooner we get them in the better but it doesn't look like anything can be done before Monday.

"We need to find out what is going on as quickly as we can. I understand things take time but as a manager the timing hasn't been particularly brilliant.

"I would like to meet the potential new owners as soon as possible and hopefully after that things will be clearer."
