Crawley have signed former Liverpool development squad goalkeeper Yusuf Mersin.

The 21-year-old joins from Turkish Premier League club Kasimpasa on a two-year deal.

Mersin will compete for the starting spot with Glenn Morris and one other keeper.

The 6ft 5in former Turkey under-17 and under-18 international from London began his career at Millwall before joining Liverpool’s academy in 2010.

While at Anfield, he played for the club’s under-18s and under-21s.

Head coach Dermot Drummy said: “Yusuf has a tremendous pedigree in youth football and went from Millwall to Liverpool for a very substantial compensation fee."
