Dean Cox would be ready to extend his Crawley contract immediately if offered.
The 30-year-old still has two more seasons to run but wants to remain as long as possible.
He said: “I like the club, I’m enjoying myself and I enjoy playing football around the area as I live around here.
“It’s the club I am passionate about so if someone would come to me now and say ‘it’s for years’, I would sign it.”
Cox is setting high goals for himself and the club.
He added: “Hopefully, with the two years I’ve got, we can progress. Finishing top half or top eight – if we can maybe this season – would be great.
“In the following season we have to go one better and look to get into that play-off. But we want to be in the play-offs this year, don’t get me wrong.”
