Glenn Morris has signed a new deal at Crawley as boss Harry Kewell strives to keep his improving squad together.

Morris, who emerged as No.1 last season after initially joining the club in a coaching role, has excelled this term.

The former Leyton Orient man has agreed terms keeping him at the Checkatrade Stadium until the summer of 2020.

Kewell said: “I’m delighted Glenn has committed himself to the club for the rest of this season and the next two.

“We have a hardworking squad at the club trying to take Crawley Town forward and Glenn’s dedication to his profession has shone through from the day I started working with the players.

“And the great thing about Glenn is that he wants to keep working hard, keep improving and keeping more clean sheets.

"I’m sure our fans will be delighted with this news because Glenn is a very popular player and it’s great that he is going to be part of what we are trying to build long-term here.”

Reds received at least one bid for frontrunner Jordan Roberts, from Shrewsbury, this month as well as interest in other players.

But it is understood they have spent deadline day working to keep the current group intact.

After an uncertain start to the season, they are the form team in League Two having taken 21 points since December 17, the best record of its kind in the fourth tier.

Luton have amassed 19 points and Mansfield 18 in the same period.
