Brewster: We didn't do enough

Caretaker boss Craig Brewster admitted Crawley did not do enough as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Dagenham and Redbridge today.

Charlie Wassmer gave Reds the lead after 18 minutes but Billy Bingham equalised on the stroke of half-time.

Gary Alexander missed two good chances to secure all three points but Torquay's 2-0 defeat at AFC Wimbledon means Reds now have a one point cushion in the last automatic promotion place. The result was also enough to secure Dagenham's place in League Two next season.

Brewster said: "We certainly didn't do enough in the second half to win the game, albeit we had two fantastic chances.

"Credit to Dagenham as they made it difficult for us but we never got the ball down and passed it like we did in the first half.

"We weren't positive enough but when you look at the other scores it could be a big point."

The result extended Crawley's unbeaten run to 13 and means if they win at home to Hereford next week and Torquay fail to beat Crewe then they will be promoted with a game to spare.

Craig is just about correct in his summing up of the afternoon. It seemed a bit flat both on the pitch and amonst the 670 standing Town fans. Strange really, as there has been real intensity over the past few months. Prehaps its safe to say that neither the players or the fans did enough to warrant 3 points.
Hereford travel to the Broadfield next Saturday. They are battling against relegation so its gona be tough. Everyone connected at CTFC needs to be right up for it and focused if we want to secure 3 points !
