Reds fight back to beat Bridges

Second half goals from Scott Neilson and John Akinde spared Crawley's blushes against Three Bridges as they came from behind to win 2-1 at Jubilee Field.

Saio Blackwood gave the Ryman League outfit a deserved lead in the first half against a disjointed Reds side featuring a host of fringe players.

Blackwood fired home from close range in the 22nd minute after a shot from Tim Rivers had been deflected while Royce Greenidge and Marcus Elliott had chances to extend the lead.

Crawley were lacklustre in the first half with their only openings coming when Charlie Wassmer headed against the bar from a David Hunt free kick and then Jonte Smith pulled a good save out of Simon Lehkyj.

Shaun Cooper came on early in the second half after signing for Reds before the game and the League One outfit began to impose themselves more.

Akinde blazed over from the penalty spot after being brought down by James Grant but did equalise in the 67th minute when he fired home from the edge of the area, Neilson grabbed what turned out to be the winner with 18 minutes to go when he tapped home from close range after Lehkyj had parried a shot from Smith.
