Sussex have continued their squad building for next season by securing Will Beer, Steffan Piolet and Callum Jackson on one-year deals.

Leg-spinner Beer and all-rounder Piolet were key members of Sussex’s one-day side last season and will be looking for more opportunities in the Championship next summer.

Wicketkeeper Jackson did not make a single first team appearance last season – his first as a professional - but has been given more time to develop.

All three came through the youth academy at Hove with Piolet going on to join Warwickshire before returning to Sussex last season.

Coach Mark Robinson said: “Steffan and Will have both become very consistent and valued one-day players and thoroughly deserve their extensions.

“We also are very aware of their ambitions to play in all formats and we are looking to keep developing them so they can start to really impact in all formats in the future.

“Callum had an encouraging first year as a full-time professional and we look forward to him making further strides and starting to push hard for a first-team spot.”

Beer, 26, has played over 100 games for Sussex in one-day cricket since making his debut in 2008 but has just nine appearances to his name in first class cricket.

He said: “I’m delighted to have signed a one-year extension to my contract.

“Sussex is the club I have played for since I was ten years old. I love playing for this club and everything it stands for.

“As a personal ambition, after such a good year in white-ball cricket, I’d like to push to seal my place in all three formats, and hopefully push towards winning matches and trophies for Sussex in 2015.”

Beer, Piolet and Jackson are the latest players to commit their futures to Sussex following the announcement that Luke Wells and Luke Wright had agreed new deals.

It leaves left-arm seamer Lewis Hatchett as the only out-of-contract player yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.
