Sussex paceman Chris Jordan has retained his place in a revamped England squad for the tour of West Indies next month.

Jordan is included in a 16-man party for the three-Test series which starts on April 13 meaning he will miss the beginning of Sussex's County Championship campaign.

The 26-year-old was one of the few England players to emerge from a disastrous World Cup with his reputation intact, taking four wickets in the only two games he played.

Jordan is joined in the squad by three uncapped players - Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth, Durham seamer Mark Wood and Yorkshire leg-spinner Adil Rashid - while there is also a return to the England set-up for Jonathan Trott for the first time since leaving the 2013-14 Ashes tour due to a stress-related illness.

Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali are both ruled out due to injuries suffered during the World Cup while Middlesex opener Sam Robson and fast bowler Steven Finn are the other notable absentees.

Jordan's inclusion rules him out of the opening three Championship games. The earliest he could feature for Sussex would be the Championship clash with Middlesex on May 10 which comes two days after England's ODI against Scotland.

Squad: Cook, Lyth, Trott, Ballance, Root, Bell, Stokes, Buttler, Bairstow, Rashid, Plunkett, Broad, Anderson, Jordan, Wood, Tredwell.
