Matt Hobden took a triple-wicket maiden for Sussex – but they were still beaten by one of their former favourites in the final of the Emirates T20 in Dubai.
Hobden reduced Yorkshire to 10-3, only for Andrew Hodd to fire 79, including four sixes, against his old county as his side reached 176-4.
Sussex were never really in the hunt in reply as they were bowled out for just 102 with Adil Rashid bagging 4-16.
Chris Liddle took two wickets in two balls on his way to 3-34 as the county beat the MCC by 18 runs in their semi-final.
Craig Cachopa hit 69 and Chris Nash 40 from 37 balls as Sharks, who were defending champions, set 164-4. Alastair Cook scored 35 in the reply.
