Alfonso Thomas has joined Sussex on a month's loan
Sussex have signed seamer Alfonso Thomas on a month's loan from Somerset.
Thomas will go straight into the team for Sunday's opening match of the Royal London One-Day Cup against Lancashire at Horsham.
Sussex moved to bring in the 38-year-old with four frontline seamers - Chris Jordan, Jimmy Anyon, Lewis Hatchett and Ajmal Shahzad - unavailable due to injury.
Thomas will be available to play in the Royal London One Day Cup but not the County Championship of the NatWest T20 Blast.
The veteran has taken 216 wickets from 164 List A matches during his career and made one appearance for South Africa in a Twenty20 international eight years ago.
