Sussex all-rounder Chris Jordan has signed to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.
Jordan missed out in the initial player draft for the tournament but has been brought in as a replacement for injured fast bowler Mitchell Starc.
Sussex had already been without the England star for the opening two County Championship matches of the season as he rested an elbow injury which he aggravated at the World Twenty20.
Jordan had been lined up to return at home to Leicestershire on Sunday but will now head straight off to India with Bangalore playing Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday.
The 27-year-old is also expected to miss the Championship matches against Derbyshire and Worcestershire before returning to Hove in time for the opening NatWest T20 Blast game against Gloucestershire in Bristol on May 20.
