Leicestershire are firmly in the driving seat in their County Championship clash with Sussex after another miserable day for the hosts at Hove.
A century from Paul Horton helped the visitors reach 300-4 in reply to Sussex’s woefully inadequate first innings total of 163 when bad light further curtailed a day which had seen the entire morning session washed out.
Horton made exactly 100 and put on 114 for the third wicket with Mark Cosgrove before being caught behind down the leg side off the bowling of George Garton.
Teenager Garton made the only other breakthrough for Sussex when he produced a sensational yorker to bowl Cosgrove for 80.
Mark Pettini continued the good work for Leicestershire as he reached 42 not out by the time the light faded as the visitors stretched their lead to 137.
