Sussex fast bowler Tymal Mills has received his first England call-up.

Mills has been named in the squad for the Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka at the Rose Bowl on July 5.

The left-arm quick is joined in the 13-man party by Sussex team-mate Chris Jordan who is also in the 14-strong squad for the five-match 50-over series against Sri Lanka.

Mills has been in superb form for Sussex in the NatWest T20 Blast this season, taking six wickets to help the Sharks to three wins out of four.

The 23-year-old is unlikely to miss any games for Sussex due to his international call-up as a serious back injury means he is restricted to playing Twenty20 cricket.

Jordan will be unavailable for the Championship matches against Northamptonshire and Glamorgan together with the NatWest T20 Blast games against Gloucestershire, Kent and Middlesex.

National selector James Whitaker, said: “Tymal Mills has been one of the standout performers with the ball in the NatWest T20 Blast competition this season and deserves his chance."
