Tymal Mills has no reservations about playing in the Bangladesh Premier League despite warnings over security.

The Sussex paceman has confirmed he still intends to link up with the Chittagong Vikings at the end of the month even though the Professional Cricketers’ Association has advised its members not to travel to the country The PCA is concerned that security measures for the Twenty20 competition will not be on a par with the current England tour which only got the green light after an assessment of the risks in the aftermath of a terrorist attack in Dhaka in July which killed 29 people.

Mills is one of seven English-qualified players due to take part in the BPL and is satisfied with the assurances he has received over safety from the organisers.

The 23-year-old said: “My agent has looked into it and is confident that we will all be looked after properly. You can see from the current England tour that security levels are high so I’m really looking forward to going over.”

Mills recently signed a new one-year contract with Sussex but is restricted to playing Twenty20 cricket by an ongoing back condition.

The England international hopes to catch the eye in the BPL to earn more opportunities in big tournaments like the Big Bash and IPL as well as enhancing his international prospects.

He added: “Playing in Bangladesh is a good opportunity for me. I am just a Twenty20 bowler now and if I pulled out I would be just sat at home twiddling my thumbs. I feel in good shape and want to be playing. It’s a good tournament and hopefully it will open a few doors for me.”
