Sussex paceman Tymal Mills earned an eye-watering price tag of £1.4million at the Indian Premier League auction today.

Mills was the second most expensive player to be bought behind England all-rounder Ben Stokes who became the highest-paid overseas player in the competition's history when he was snapped up by Rising Pune Supergiants for £1.7million.

Mills - who does not play any longer forms of the game due to back problems and is therefore available for the entire tournament - will team up with India captain Virat Kohli for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The 25-year-old left-armer quick - who was bought for 24 times his base price - will be joined at the IPL by Sussex team-mate Chris Jordan who was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad for £60,000.

It means Jordan will be unavailable for all of Sussex's group games in the Royal London One Day Cup along with their opening two games in the County Championship.

Elsewhere, England T20 skipper Eoin Morgan went to Kings XI Punjab for £240,271 while all-rounder Chris Woakes went to Kolkata Knight Riders in a deal worth £506,583.
