Sussex paceman Steve Magoffin has been ruled out for six to eight weeks by an Achilles injury.
He misses three Championship fixtures, starting with the trip to Leicestershire which gets under way tomorrow.
Magoffin must also sit out the floodlit Championship match with Gloucestershire and the return fixture with Leicestershire at Arundel Castle.
Left-arm seamer George Garton, who has been in action for the England Lions, replaces Magoffin in the squad tomorrow while all-rounder Delray Rawlins is also included.
Vernon Philander, who took match figures of 6-102 in the win over Worcestershire, plays his final game for the county.
