All-rounder Jofra Archer has signed a contract extension which will keep him at Sussex until at least the end of the 2020 season.

Archer, 22, signed his first professional contract with Sussex in 2016 and made his debut against Pakistan during their tour of England in 2016, taking five wickets in the match.

Since then hehas gone on to make 49 appearances for Sussex across all formats taking 131 wickets at an average of 25.67, in addition to scoring 1038 runs at an average of 31.45.

Archer received his County cap, cap number 144, during the lunch interval on day three of the Specsavers County Championship match against Nottinghamshire at Hove.

During the 2017 season Archer has taken 91 wickets and scored 776 runs.

Archer said: “I’m very excited to be included in the long-term plans of the club.

"Recently a couple of the other young players have signed new contracts so it’s great to be part of the club's exciting future”
